ABC's hit TV series Desperate Housewives is now on its eight season. After eight years and eight seasons, Desperate Housewives' eight season will be its last. It has been a colorful journey for housewives Susan Delfino (Teri Hatcher), Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross) and Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria). We have seen all of them laugh, cry, fall in love, get angry, go crazy, and make love. Thanks to the voice of Mary Alice who never got tired of keeping us up to date with what's going on in Fairview even after her death. Not only did we catch a glimpse of the lives of these suburban housewives on Wisteria Lane, we also got to follow the story of their friends, families and foes.
Desperate Housewives revolutionized the way housewives are seen. It sent a message across. Housewives can be hot and sexy. Age is nothing but a number. After the show hit television sets nationwide, housewives started looking good again. Desperate Housewives became a phenomenal hit for many reasons, not only did it "sexify" housewives everywhere, it also became a mirror of what goes on in quiet, little suburban homes. Plus, those four housewives instantly became gay icons. Most gay people relate to and idolize strong, powerful, beautiful, independent women. Desperate Housewives owes a large portion of its phenomenal popularity to its huge gay following. The housewives are not the only attraction gay people follow week after week, season after season. They most especially salivate over the housewives' gorgeous husbands. And it did not hurt that Desperate Housewives had a few gay characters and episodes, to make its gay fans satisfied and happy.
So with the inevitable departure of the housewives of Wisteria Lane, we are sure going to miss them and their crazy escapades, and their handsome husbands and hot lovers. If we can't have any more Desperate Housewives, maybe, just maybe we can have Desperate Husbands? What do you think?
Wouldn't it be nice to see hot husbands live their sometimes outrageous, sometimes mundane suburban lives? I am sure it is going to have a market. If hot actors will be cast in it, it will surely catch the attention of women and needless to say, the gay community. Or what if this series that does not exist yet is to be created as a series for gay people? So instead of straight husbands, it will showcase the lives of gay married couples or gay men in straight marriages. What do you think? As a matter of fact, this Desperate Husbands concept has already been done the moment Desperate Housewives became an instant hit in 2005. The ever so quick gay porn industry has already come up with parodies of the hit tv series such as Desperate Househusbands and Desperate Husbands. These parodies are an interesting mixture of sex and humor. They feature desperate gay hunks hungry for each other's forbidden fruits. These husbands are totally unashamed when it comes to doing the nasty with other husbands.
With the hit series coming to an end very soon, fans of the show will surely be desperate for more. The husbands are ready to be picked.
